Located in the Kalahari region of the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, the picturesque little town of Kathu owes its existence to one of the largest open-cast iron ore mining operations in the world. Referred to as ‘the town under the trees’, Kathu is connected by road, rail and air to its closest main center, Kimberley.

Calling all Central Illinois Re-Doubters, Preppers, and HAM Radio Operators!

As part of the T-Rex 2012 Large-scale, 3-day, Scenario-based disaster/preparedness exercise I will be monitoring the following HAM (Amateur) Radio Stations and performing radio checks (QSL) and information broadcasts (QST) on FRS/GMRS channel three.

I am studying for my Ham license, but won't be ready by August.
My re-doubt call sign is Chaplain01

On the Hour
10 minutes prior to 10 minutes after the hour:
(ie. 1250 to 1310, or 12:50pm to 1:10pm)
