Dr. Erwin Lutzer, When a Nation Forgets God emphasis added
That day is here as evidenced...
- Georgetown University Professor of Law Jonathan Turley the National Defense Authorization Act of 2011 (NDAA) allows for the indefinite military detention of US citizens without charge or trial [youtube bbc audio]
- NDAA: Open Season for the Police State
- Bill Of Rights Is No More
Americans should realize that, coupled with the Patriot Act, the NDAA, for all intents and purposes, completely nullifies a good portion of the Bill of Rights, turns the United States into a war zone, and places US citizens under military rule...
Specifically for the church, signs of what may come...
- Pastors Protest NYC Mayor Bloomberg for Stopping Churches--But Not Other Groups--from Meeting at Schools
- Pastors Arrested at Protest Against NYC's Ban on Church Services in Schools [contrast with with Occupy protests!]
- ‘Dozens’ Arrested at New York City Protest [contrast with with Occupy protests!]
Furthermore, Mark Levin, in his new book ‘Ameritopia:’ ‘We Now Live in a Post-Constitutional Country’, explains "I believe to a great extent we now live in a post-constitutional country, where much of the Constitution is ignored or evaded...".
The only Presidential candidate that is sounding the alarm regarding this persistent and deliberate erosion of our liberties is Congressman Ron Paul. [official statement: The NDAA Repeals More Rights] [Why Ron Paul? by Pastor Voddie Baucham]
This is not a Republican or Democrat issue! Peoria Illinois' Republican Congressman Aaron Schock violated his oath to support and defend the Constitution and voted to pass the House version, HR 1540, of the NDAA Indefinate Detention bill. Each candidate must be vetted for their fidelity to the constitution!
There is evil intent on both sides of the political divide. We need constitutional candidates that will live or die by their oath:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
I could go on and on. I am documenting these links and legal arguments as part of my own research. When issuing my complaint to my Congressman, I was assured my fears were unfounded. However, brighter constitutional scholars clearly indicate that they are. The writing is on the wall, it's time to double down on discipleship and redoubt for our families and communities!
"'Our peculiar security is in possession of a written Constitution,' Jefferson advised us. 'Let us not make it a blank paper by construction.' Jefferson was afraid, in other words, that we would allow our government to interpret the Constitution so broadly that we may as well be governed by a blank piece of paper. The limitations the Constitution placed on the federal government had to be taken seriously if we expected to maintain a free society."
Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, The Revolution: A Manifesto
1. Time to double down on discipleship
2. Time to redoubt for our families and communities!
3. Time to vote for local, state and federal candidates that will uphold their oath to the Constitution!
4. Time to consider when is it time to flee?
Just in case...
HOMELAND SECURITY GIVEN GREEN LIGHT TO MONITOR AMERICAN JOURNALISTS
"The jaws of power are always open to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing." - John Adams
Newspeak, Hate Speech, Offensive Speech, what about Free Speech?
"A caged canary is secure; but it is not free. It is easier for free men to resist terrorism from afar than tyranny from within." - Pastor Chuck Baldwin
More evidence:
The founder of OathKeepers.org, Stewart Rhodes, explains legally how the NDAA Indefinite Detention Act declares war on Americans and violates the Constitution and Bill of Rights!
Even MTV gets it! Watch these two public service announcement spots:
First NDAA; Now Enemy Expatriation Act
On the heels of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), otherwise known as the “Indefinite Detention Act,” comes another draconian bill designed to give the federal government the power to turn American citizens into enemies of the state for virtually any reason it deems necessary.
Oath Keepers Launches National Effort to Recall and/or Remove Members of Congress Who Voted for NDAA Military Detention. Merry Christmas, U.S. Congress!
Oath Keepers has launched a national effort to recall (or remove by any other lawful means) all of the oath breaking members of Congress, in both the House and Senate, who voted for the National Defense Appropriations Act of 2012 (NDAA), which contains provisions that authorize indefinite military detention and trial by military commission of “any person” – including U.S. citizens and lawful residents – upon the mere say-so of the President or one of his subordinates in the Executive Branch, such as within the Department of Defense or CIA.
Obama’s Signing Statement on NDAA: I have the power to detain Americans… but I won’t
After the legislation cleared Congress, the ACLU commented that signing the bill 'will damage both his legacy and American’s reputation for upholding the rule of law,' while executive director of the Human Rights Watch blasted the President for being 'on the wrong side of history,' noting that 'Obama will go down in history as the president who enshrined indefinite detention without trial in US law.'
[Constitutional Attorney Tim Baldwin] A CRITIQUE OF MONTANA’S DAILY INTER LAKE ARTICLE ON SB 1867 [NDAA]
The reality is, “belligerent” actions do not include only acts of war as the article presupposes. It includes any “hostilities” towards the United States regardless of “terrorist connections”. Of course, these terms are unilaterally defined by only one branch of government with no checks from the judiciary. In short, the article presumes we should trust the President with this kind of discretionary law-of-war power...
The bill does not require detainment of US Citizens, but instead it gives discretionary power for US Citizens to be detained under laws of war. Thus, the plausibility of serious abuse is still real...
After all, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has expressly named the following kind of people as potential “homegrown terrorists”: supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr; those who oppose the “collection of federal income tax”; those who believe in the fundamental importance of the second amendment—meaning, State militias; those “who question the legitimacy of the federal government”; those who oppose illegal immigration. (See source here.). The SPLC, of course, is the Department of Homeland Security’s lap dog and feeds “expert” information about “terrorism” through their Fusion Centers... instead of being a “narrow purpose”, the bill broadly expands the use of the “law of war” power against US Citizens the military deems “belligerent”.
[Constitutional Attorney Tim Baldwin] A FOLLOW UP ARTICLE REGARDING MY INTERVIEW WITH LARS LARSON [concerning the NDAA]
The Constitution adequately provides for the protection of the accused’s rights as well as the public safety.
We cannot ignore the United States Constitution in the name of “safety”. It provides for our safety. However, if there is a flaw in the United States Constitution relative to these matters of “terror”, then the people should amend it. We tread on dangerous ground where power is assumed. This was one of the strongest warnings the founding fathers gave us...
The “war on terror” began in 2001 without a declaration of war or letter of Marque or Reprisal. Congressman Henry Hyde told the President to use his discretion in the war. Now, Congress is providing the President with a law of discretion against United States citizens with no oversight of the judicial branch.
DHS Officers Armed With Semiautomatics Set Up Unannounced ID Checkpoint
Residents of Leesburg, Florida were shocked to see their local Social Security office turned into a random Homeland Security checkpoint Tuesday morning, as DHS officers armed with semiautomatic rifles and accompanied by sniffer dogs checked identifications of locals.
