Weekly ReCap – 10-31-2008 – Saints

Saints: "the people of God, the church of Jesus Christ. . . the idea of being set apart for God as well as conformity to God's likeness through the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit." (“Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms” by Stanley J. Grenz, et. al., 1999)

AMAZING GRACE tells the inspiring story of William Wilberforce and his passion and perseverance to pass a law ending the slave trade in the late 18th century. Several friends including Wilberforce's minister a reformed slave ship captain who penned the beloved hymn Amazing Grace urge him to see the cause through.

Reading:

“. . . the Christians pressed on in the conviction that they were ‘a colony of heaven’ called to obey God rather than man. Small in number they were big in commitment. They were too God-intoxicated to be ‘astronomically intimidated.’ By their effort and example they brought an end to such ancient evils as infanticide.”
- Martin Luther King, Letter from a Birmingham Jail
Quoted in: “What Martin Luther King called evil, Barack Obama calls good
By Clenard Childress, RenewAmerica.us, 10/28/2008

"If [my daughters] make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."
- Senator Barak Obama
* it has come to my attention that some saints just can't believe that Obama actually said this, so here is the link to the youtube video, 1 minute and 16 seconds in you will hear Obama make this statement! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kri8G-lGYfg

“What difference does two or three minutes inside or outside the womb really make? One’s ‘late-term’ and the other’s ‘postpartum’.”
- Senator Barack Obama

- “Politics and Poverty
By Ken Connor, Center for a Just Society, Crosswalk.com, 10/27/2008
“A large group of prominent evangelicals hopes to make poverty a center-stage issue during these difficult financial times and the upcoming elections. . . This is clearly seen in Barack Obama's impassioned pledges to help the poor. . .

The long-term progressive goal will prove ineffective in the end. Forced redistribution removes the incentive to work harder and earn more. Why work hard if your profits will simply be given to someone else? Why not just kick back and feed off of others? Rather than embracing policies that result in a redistribution of wealth, we should seek to provide short-term, restorative aid for the poor that encourages the development of financial independence. . .

Private charity emerges from a sense of ethical duty. The Scriptures are filled with exhortations to help the poor: "He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done." (Prov. 19:17 NIV; see also Prov. 14:31 and 29:7) Our personal duty to help our neighbor can't be pawned on elected government officials. Each of us has an individual duty to care for those around us.

Organizations like One.org and Sojourners are right to call for an increased effort to help the poor, but they are wrong to look to government for the solution. The true solution will come primarily from individuals, charities, and churches across the country, who take seriously Jesus' exhortation (Matthew 25:34-46) to provide hospitality, food, drink, clothing, and care for "the least" among us.”
(emphasis mine)

- “Obama, in 2001 Interview, Lamented Failure of Civil Rights Movement to Redistribute Wealth
FoxNews.com, 10/27/2008
“In a radio interview in 2001, Barack Obama said the civil rights movement failed when it became so dependent on the Supreme Court that it never got around to working toward redistributing income.”

- “Obama’s No Robin Hood
Father Jonathan, FoxNews.com, 10/27/2008
“There can be no longer any doubt. Senator Obama’s enduring political philosophy is socialist at the core. And his leanings, in this regard, are radical; he would like to see all three branches of the federal government play a role in restructuring our society according to ‘redistributive’ economic principles. . .

But we know from history, from very sad periods of history, there is no real justice—no progress and no lasting peace—when its pursuit involves beating down some to lift up others. And we also know, by the dictates of reason and the practice of all ages, that when the government decides it can suspend the natural right to private property, through repossession or redistribution, or whatever they choose to call it, that government is on the wrong side of truth.”

Rebuild the Family!

"The Natural Family: Bulwark of Liberty" defines the family based on universal human experience. Insisting, without apology, on the reality of the "natural family," the manifesto issues a personal call to men and women to rediscover this fundamental source of life, joy, and freedom.

Bible Challenge 2008 - Week 31

Week 31

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” (1 Corinthians 15:33)

“Note, Bad company and conversation are likely to make bad men. Those who would keep their innocence must keep good company. Error and vice are infectious: and, if we would avoid the contagion, we must keep clear of those who have taken it.” (Matthew Henry’s Complete Commentary on the Bible)

Knights and Ladies, as we allow God to transform our lives, we should fellowship with others of like mind and spirit. We should “become right-minded and stop sinning.” (1 Corinthians 15:34 HCSB) However, that’s not to keep us from engaging the world and fulfilling our calling to be salt and light!

Monday --- 2 Corinthians 2
Tuesday --- 2 Corinthians 3
Wednesday --- 2 Corinthians 4
Thursday --- 2 Corinthians 5
Friday --- 2 Corinthians 6

“When someone claims to believe one way yet acts another, we call this bad faith. Good faith, on the other hand, is congruence between what we claim to believe and how we actually live. If someone intends to buy a house, the down payment is a gesture of good faith. Good faith means not deceiving others (in our public convictions) and not deceiving ourselves (in our private convictions). Good faith means loving the truth more than we love ourselves.”
(“Faith & Doubt” by John Ortberg)

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

All Saints Day - November 1st

To the saints, the faithful in Christ Jesus:

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Ephesians 1:1-2)

Saint: "the people of God, the church of Jesus Christ. . . the idea of being set apart for God as well as conformity to God's likeness through the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit."
(“Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms” by Stanley J. Grenz, David Guretzki and Cherith Fee Nordling, 1999)

“. . . traditionally in the Church the two days of All Saints Day (November 1) and All Souls Day (November 2) were valued as times to celebrate heritage and those Christians of the past who faithfully transmitted the Faith to succeeding generations. Martin Luther actually chose All Saints Eve to send his Ninety Five Theses to the Archbishop. . .

Today, many Protestant churches combine the two traditional days into the observance of All Saints Day. However, the day focuses not only on honoring departed members of the Church and local congregations, but also those still living who have contributed to the work and ministry of the Church in significant ways.” (1)

Bible Challenge 2008 - Week 30

Week 30

“But eagerly desire the greater gifts.” (1 Corinthians 12:31)

How rich this one sentence! During last years Bible In a Year Challenge, I circled the word “desire” because my first instinct was, “but we shouldn’t covet the gifts of others that we haven’t been given, should we?” The answer to that question is no. But. . .

This is definitely a time when the full context and spirit of Paul’s full letter must be taken in. Because as long as our desire for greater gifts, different gifts, or even greater capacity within our gifts is a desire for the growth and edification of the whole body (Church or fellowship of believers), then it is a good desire!

“Those are truly best by which God will be most honoured and his church edified. Such gifts should be most earnestly coveted.” (Matthew Henry’s Complete Commentary on the Bible)

Knights and Ladies, eagerly desire good and greater gifts for the good of others and the glory of our King Jesus Christ!

“‘Grow in grace’ — not just in some grace — but in all grace. Grow in the root of all grace, which is faith. Believe God's promises more firmly than ever. Allow your faith to increase in its fullness, firmness, and simplicity. Grow also in love. Ask God to stretch your love and make it more intense and practical, to the point of influencing your every thought, word, and action.

Grow in humility too. Seek to be unnoticed and to more fully recognize your own nothingness. Yet as you grow ‘downward’ in humility, also seek to grow ‘upward,’ where you will have closer times with God through prayer and more intimate fellowship with Jesus.” — Charles Spurgeon

Presidential Debate - 10-23-2008 - Update 2

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." -- John Quincy Adams

Greetings,

I have a special request for my Illinois subscribers.

You must know, in all likelihood, that a vote for McCain is a wasted vote in Illinois. Illinois is a blue state and Obama will win the state. So I would like to offer an alternative.

By Providence alone, the Constitution Party made it on the ballot for this general election! If they secure enough of the vote (5%), they will achieve "Established Party" status and will not have to raise an unreasonable amount of petition signatures every time a candidate runs.

If you vote for Chuck Baldwin and Darrel Castle of the Constitution Party for President and Vice President, and Chad Koppie for U.S. Senate, it will serve three over arching goals:

1. With 5% of the vote, the Constitution Party will achieve "Established Party" status in Illinois. This means that in 2010 the Constitution Party of Illinois will be holding a primary, just like the two major parties and you will be able to pull a Constitution Party ballot to vote for the Constitution Party's candidates. ALSO, and most importantly, having established party status means that we will only need to collect 5,000 signatures (the same as the two major parties) instead of the overwhelming 25,000 signatures currently required. Your vote will count towards this 5% target goal!

2. You will be sending a clear protest to the failed Republican Party (and Democrats). You will be voting principle over party. You will be voting for someone instead of against someone, and you will be sending the message that you want truth, integrity, and action over political rhetoric, that you want limited constitutional government over bigger and more oppressive nanny state socialism that breeds dependence! (Get out of the way and let the Church and Non-Profits do their work - Amen?)

3. You will be opening the door to rid Illinois of it's corrupt and inept state leadership!

Remember, in Illinois, a vote for McCain is a wasted vote! Please do take the time and do the research and consider voting for the Constitution Party!

Thank you and God bless, Chaplain Mick

Third Party Presidential Debate to be Aired Live by C-SPAN
Watch tonight (Thursday, October 23) at 9pm ET
Check your local listings for the channel.

Chuck Baldwin will have an opportunity to share his views in a debate scheduled for Thursday, October 23, at 9:00 PM ET in Washington DC.

Baldwin, along with other third party candidates will show voters they don't have to settle for the socialist policies of Obama or McCain. Chuck will detail his vision for a return to Constitutional government in a 90 minute forum.

{ http://www.baldwin08.com/ } { http://www.constitutionparty.com/ } { http://www.constitutionpartyil.com/ }

The following quote is from Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate for President: { http://www.baldwin08.com/IssuesList.cfm }

"The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God's image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments, and that certainly includes the office of the President of the United States, to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born. I affirm the God-given legal person hood of all unborn human beings, without exception.

In addition to guaranteeing the legal person hood of the unborn, Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act, which I wholeheartedly support, would strip the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in all cases of abortion in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 2. This would mean that Roe v. Wade would immediately pass away as any legal authority on this issue. There would be no need to worry about putting a Supreme Court on the bench that might eventually make the right decision on this issue. We can, therefore, end legal abortion immediately upon enactment of the Sanctity of Life Act.

Republicans tout themselves as being "pro-life." Yet, the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the White House for six years and did absolutely nothing to overturn Roe or end abortion-on-demand. If the Republicans were really serious about being pro-life the could have already ended legal abortion in America. Obviously the Republican Party and most GOP politicians are not serious about ending abortion, but are, regrettably, simply content to perpetuate the issue to manipulate pro-life voters.

Under my administration, we could end legal abortion in a matter of days, not decades. And if Congress refuses to pass Dr. Paul's bill, I will use the constitutional power of the Presidency to deny funds to protect abortion clinics. Either way, legalized abortion ends when I take office."

Contrast that with Obama:

"If [my daughters] make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

Baldwin '08 Press Release:

WASHINGTON, DC- Rep. Ron Paul's (R-TX) choice for President is among those invited to a debate for all presidential candidates on Thursday, October 23, in Washington, D.C.

Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin ( www.Baldwin08.com) will join other third party candidates at the 90-minute forum, which is being sponsored by The Free and Equal Elections Coalition ( www.freeandequal.org). The Third Party Presidential Candidates Debate will be held at 9 p.m. (EST) at the Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave., NW, in Washington, D.C.

A total of six presidential candidates who are on enough state ballots to be eligible to win the election have been invited to participate.

According to Ballot Access News ( www.ballot-access.org), the Constitution Party is the largest and fastest-growing third party based on voter registrations. The recent endorsement of CP candidate Chuck Baldwin by former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has directed many of Paul's supporters to Baldwin. See Ron Paul's endorsement of Baldwin at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=547 .

The 90-minute debate will focus on the issues that distinguish Chuck Baldwin from the major and minor party presidential candidates in the race: opposition to the so-called ‘bail-outs', opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, support for secure borders, the overturning of Roe v Wade, and a return to limited, Constitutional government.

In addition to Baldwin, the other invited candidates are Republican Party nominee John McCain, Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama, Independent Ralph Nader, the Green Party's Cynthia McKinney, and the Libertarian Party's Bob Barr.

Economic Montage - Update 1

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." -- John Quincy Adams

“We can't expect the American people to jump from capitalism to Communism but we can assist their leaders by giving them small amounts of Socialism until they awaken one day to find out they have Communism.” – Krushchev, Russian Premier, 1962

“With the passage of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, Congress unconstitutionally transferred control of the U.S. monetary system to a consortium of twelve private banks collectively known as the Federal Reserve System or 'The Fed'. . . This means that a group of private banks are authorized to create money out of nothing, and lend it to the government with interest that has to be repaid by the American people through the income tax. . .

In order to affect any real economic reform we must restore the money of the Constitution. When we do, all other necessary reforms will be possible. The money of the Constitution, or a sound money system, means money based on something or tied to the value of something. The Constitution contemplates that the 'something' that money should be based on is gold and silver. . .

The Fed’s control of the money supply of the American people should be ended immediately and control returned to Congress as the Constitution requires. Congress could then act in place of The Fed on it’s way to returning us to a system of sound money.”

Weekly ReCap – 10-17-2008 – Poor in Spirit

If we really admit it, deep down, we are all desperately poor in Spirit.

“So when Jesus spoke of the poor in spirit, who was he referring to? Who is this misfortunate bunch in such desperate need? Everyone. . .

Jesus alone shows us that our condition is not hopeless. Just as Socrates knew that the only ones who are wise are those who know they are fools, so too Jesus shows us that the only ones who are complete are those who know they are falling apart. Heaven is occupied not by those who think they have it all together. Heaven is the refuge of the infirm and the mending.”

- “Obama Team sends Secret Service agents to intimidate voter on her doorstep
By Tamara Scott, Christian Worldview Network, 10/15/2008
“Jessica had received a call on her cell phone while traveling in the car with her husband. It was an unsolicited call asking her to support Obama. She explained that he was a socialist who had voted four times in his state senate to allow babies to die in hospital closets and hung up.

The next day, Oct 2nd, this young unsuspecting housewife found two individuals at her door posing as Secret Service agents sent because of her ‘rude’ remarks during a campaign worker’s call. Let’s be honest, the Secret Service has better things to do than play the ‘polite police’. Aside from Jessica’s perceived rudeness, does ‘bad tone’ now fall under the jurisdiction of the Secret Service? Couldn’t the local cops handle bad behavior if there was any? Truly, this wasn’t about her manners. This was the vengeance of a bitter campaign worker disgusted that Jessica had the audacity to know Obama’s history of voting four times against the Infant Born Alive Act in Illinois, and even worse, Jessica having the freedom to speak of it.”

“‘Many of us have been drinking deception for so long that we don't understand the implications and seriousness of the game,’ Pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, told congregants Sunday. ‘It's time for us to sober up, to step up and to get into the game. . .’

‘Here's what you don't understand. The Church has become more and more a non-prophet entity,’ he said in his fiery weekend sermon. ‘But I'm excited a lot of churches are becoming for prophet. The prophets of God, men and women of God, are standing up and saying “thus sayeth the Lord. . .”’

‘We're going to stand for God's truth and be the Church because what a time in history that we have right now to be the Church,’ he said. And they're not going to be shy about it.”

Bible Challenge 2008 - Week 29

Week 29

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)

“Let us not dare to join a merely human or a carnal life with a Divine faith, the corruption of sin with the profession of Christianity. Christ is a firm, abiding, and immovable Rock of ages, every way able to bear all the weight that God himself or the sinner can lay upon him; neither is there salvation in any other. Leave out the doctrine of his atonement, and there is no foundation for our hopes.” (Matthew Henry Consice Edition)

Knights and Ladies, Jesus Christ is the foundation, the only way, He is the Truth, He is Truth. Jesus Christ is our Savior and King. All praise and glory to Him forever and ever – Amen.

Tuesday --- 1 Corinthians 9
Wednesday --- 1 Corinthians 10
Thursday --- 1 Corinthians 11
Friday --- 1 Corinthians 12

“Jesus Christ is Himself the sum total of the covenant, and, as one of its gifts, He is the possession of every believer. Dear Christian, are you able to fathom what you have received in Him, ‘for in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form’ (Colossians 2:9)?

Consider the word God in all its infinite greatness, and then meditate on the beauty of ‘becom[ing] mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ’ (Ephesians 4:13). Remember, as God and man, all that Christ ever had or has is yours purely because of His favor. It has been freely bestowed on you and will be your inheritance forever. —Charles Spurgeon”
(“Look Unto Me: The Devotions of Charles Spurgeon” by Jim Reimann)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Weekly ReCap – 10-10-2008 – Certainty

Death is most certain.

“There is one road to certainty — through a door marked ‘death.’ Then I will know, or there will be no me left to know. But I need to decide how I will live on this side of the door. Once we have been born, trying to put off deciding what to do about God is like jumping off a diving board and trying to put off actually entering the water. When I think about this urgency, I'm reminded of a saying my friend Kent the drummer told me about: ‘If I refuse to sing a word or play a note until I'm certain of perfection, there will never be music.’

The question of faith is never just a question of calculating the odds of God's existence. We are not just probability calculators. We live in a burning building. It's called a body. The clock is ticking.”

Bible Challenge 2008 - Week 28

Week 28

A prayer for the use of Holy Scripture:

O Gracious God and most merciful Father, who has granted us the rich and precious jewel of Your holy word, assist us with Your Spirit, that it may be written in our hearts to our everlasting comfort, to reform us, to renew us according to Your own Image, to build us up, and to instruct us into the perfect building of Christlikeness, sanctifying and increasing in us all heavenly virtues. Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.

“. . . biblical witness is not called to tip-toe through the twenty-first century. It is meant to transform society. . .

. . . the vast majority of modern Christians work with cultural misconceptions about Christ. This is due in part to poor teaching and in part to the [inadequate] biblical awareness about who Jesus really is. . . there is an urgent need for a biblicised church. . .

[Christ] presented himself as uniquely God’s son – supremely different in every respect – and the early church believed that salvation came only through his death and resurrection. It is all or nothing. Christ is either Lord over all or nothing at all – and countless Christians have been persecuted for saying so. It may well now be our turn.”

Peoria Prayer Warriors!

“. . . as a Pastor, church leader, or simply a believer you know and value the power of prayer and unity among the body of Christ. If we are truly going to take this city for Christ we have to have both of these elements.”
- The Push for Peace Steering Committee

A theme I try and emphasis through my ministry is 1) Prayer, 2) Unity, 3) Action. One of my favorite quotes is by Edmond Burke, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." We must get involved in prayer. We must unify in partnerships as the body of Christ, and we must take action against the dark forces in our culture!

Wherever you are, get involved!

For the Peoria faithful, I share this message from Pastor Bruce of the Peoria Prayerfurnace (309-676-1370):

Greetings Prayer Warriors,

What a powerful time of prayer last night outside of DCFS as we prayed for those with awesome responsibility as they serve the children/families at risk in the community. Next week PUSH for Peace is meeting at the First Methodist Parking Lot at Perry and Hamilton at 6 PM on Thursday, October 16th to pray for Dream Center Peoria and First Methodist.

Plans are growing to start next year off with another 40 Days of Prayer.

Blessings,
Pastor Bruce

Weekly ReCap – 10-03-2008 – Wake Up!

“Brethren, we came to this country to practice our religious liberties, and if we don’t get involved, we’re going to lose them.”
- John Peter Muhlenberg, born October 1, 1746, Pastor, General, Senator (1)

Best known for this story as told by William J. Federer, “‘In the language of the Holy Writ, there is a time for all things. There is a time to preach and a time to fight.’ Thus ended the sermon of 30-year-old pastor John Peter Muhlenberg as he removed his clerical robes to reveal a uniform in the Continental Army.” (2)

But he was much more than that one incident. This was a man that lived his life as a servant to Christ’s Kingdom and his country. (3)

We should take his words quoted above seriously even today! Today we do not face a cause for independence from a tyrant (although that could change, read below for details!), but we face the challenges of secularism and radical Islam. As Chuck Colson says in The Faith, “If there’s ever been a time in which renewal was essential, it is today when Christianity is pitted against not only hostile influences within Western secularism but a massive, monolithic force, Islamofascism, that is pledged to destroy us.”

“The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber!” (Romans 13:11-14)

We must be involved!
Reading:

- U.S. Army Troops To Serve As U.S. Policemen?by Chuck Baldwin, October 1, 2008.

Editors note: It’s not so funny, but just last week I noted that if we allow our government leadership to rewrite our American history, why not just remove the Bill of Rights! See American History Being ReWritten!!! How come more people aren’t connecting these dots?

“. . . One of America's most sacred principles has always been that the U.S. military was never to be used for domestic law enforcement. The fear of standing armies ran very deep in the hearts and minds of America's founders. The tyranny and misery inflicted upon the colonies by British troops weighed heavily upon those who drafted our Constitution and Bill of Rights. In their minds, the American people would never again be subjected to the heavy weight of army boots. Furthermore, they insisted that America would have a civilian--not military--government.

And after the fiasco of the abuse of federal troops in the South following the War Between the States, the doctrine of Posse Comitatus was enacted into law. . .

Now, just a few months after expunging Posse Comitatus, President Bush has authorized an Army brigade to be assigned the new role of dealing exclusively with domestic law enforcement and related duties. This evokes serious questions.

Who will give the order to send U.S. troops against American civilians, and under what circumstances? What will the rules of engagement be? How will "unruly" and "dangerous" be defined? How will soldiers be asked to deal with "crowd" or "traffic" control? And perhaps the biggest question is, Once we begin to go down this road, where will it lead?

For several years, the federal government has been accumulating to itself more and more authority that was historically understood to reside within the states and local communities. More and more, our police departments have taken on the image and tactics of the armed forces. And to a greater and greater degree, the rights and liberties of the American people are being sacrificed on the altar of "national security." It seems to me that to now ascribe law enforcement duties to the U.S. Army only serves to augment the argument that America is fast approaching police state status. . .” Read on. . .

Week 27

“The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber!” (Romans 13:11-14)

“When to awake; Now; and to awake out of the sleep of carnal security, sloth, and negligence; out of the sleep of spiritual death, and out of the sleep of spiritual deadness. Considering the time; a busy time; a perilous time. . . Cast off the sinful works of darkness.” (Matthew Henry Consice Edition)

Knights and Ladies, wake up! We must put on Christ’s armor to guard against temptation and the dark influences of this culture! Keep up the Quest to transform our minds and lives with His Holy Word.

Monday --- Romans 14
Tuesday --- Romans 15
Wednesday --- Romans 16
Thursday --- 1 Corinthians 1
Friday --- 1 Corinthians 2

“The orthodox Christian faith is the one source that can renew culture because it relies on a wisdom far beyond humankind’s own that can yet be known by reason. It constantly calls people to the practice of virtue and charity guided by this greater wisdom. . .

We have seen this revolutionary influence of orthodox Christianity being exerted repeatedly from the early centuries to the monastic movement to the great Protestant Reformation to the Great Awakenings in England and America and today in the Global South. . .

If there’s ever been a time in which renewal was essential, it is today when Christianity is pitted against not only hostile influences within Western secularism but a massive, monolithic force, Islamofascism, that is pledged to destroy us.”

Join the Heart of Illinois Life Chain on Sunday, October 5, 2008

Blow the trumpet in Zion!

Proclaim a fast, call an assembly. Gather the people, notify the congregation. Assemble the elders; gather the children and the infants at the breast... Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, "Spare, O Lord, your people." -- Joel 2:15-17

We invite all people of good will to join us in prayer at the Heart of Illinois Life Chain on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. along the sidewalks of University and Northmoor and Allen Road in Peoria. Signs are available up to an hour before the Life Chain at the corner of University and Northmoor. The Heart of Illinois Life Chain is truly a human chain stretching from where abortion deaths occur at 7405 N. University, south on University and west on Northmoor to Allen Road, then back north to Esther House. This route passes homes, churches and schools, symbolic of life for us and our children. Children standing beside their parents in prayer provide strong testimony of family unity to a culture where divisions in the family have become commonplace culminating in the ultimate division and death of abortion. Everyone, young and old, may participate in prayer. If any cannot stand, bring a lawn chair. Our witness is strengthened especially by the weakest among us.

Other Life Chains in over a thousand cities and towns across the country will be held at the same time on this, the 21st year of Life Chain. http://www.nationallifechain.org. On this day, we show our unity with the Children of God in our midst and, like Gandhi, our peaceful resistance to the dominance of evil in our culture.

Financial Solutions

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES

by Darrell L. Castle
Constitution Party 2008 Vice Presidential Candidate

This is the clearest most sober description of our current financial crisis and recommended solutions I have read yet!

In conclusion, this plan would return our monetary system to the American People and ignite a new wave of prosperity and liberty. Every crisis presents opportunities if we only look for them. This is an opportunity for the American people to throw off the yoke of debt bondage that has enslaved them for 100 years and gain direct control of monetary policy through representatives answerable directly to them. No particular philosophy has been respected or spared in this plan. I am more interested in saving the system for the American people than I am in respecting anyone’s philosophy of money or government. This is intended to be a simple, easy to understand, explanation of our banking crisis with a Consitutional solution.
