Dear FCA Teammates,
But the angel said to them, "Don't be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." Luke 2:10
It ‘s always exciting to receive good news! On that night the angel’s announcement eternally altered the lives of those who received the message, and the birth of Jesus Christ forever changed the world. As Christians, we have the great joy of knowing Christ as our Savior and the task of sharing the Good News with everyone we meet.
We at the Greater Peoria Area FCA have been passionate about proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ this past year. Together with staff, parents and volunteers, our vision to see athletes and coaches impacted for Christ in the Greater Peoria Area was carried out in many ways. Here are a few of those ways:
- 20 campus ministries with 2 new “FCA huddles” since the start of theschool year.
- Campus Leadership Training Night with 36 FCA Campus Leaders.
- 2 coaches huddles in the Peoria Area.
- 10 pre-game meals and chapels for the Woodruff H.S. Football team in partnership with Youth for Christ and area churches. At least 4 have made commitments to Christ this year.
- Annual FCA Coaches Breakfast at the Boys Class A and AA State Basketball Tournaments. Over 100 coaches and family members in attendance from around the state.
Thanks to the dedication of many FCA volunteers and donors, the Good News of Christ has been shared in 2008! God has blessed the Greater Peoria Area FCA with abundant opportunities to impact the lives of athletes andcoaches. As we look forward to 2009, we are expecting God to do an incredible work in the Greater Peoria Area. We desire to join in His work and continue our vision “to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.”
Year-end gifts are a crucial part of seeing the FCA vision accomplished in the coming year. Please prayerfully consider how you may further partner with the Greater Peoria Area FCA team through prayer and financial support. Lives are changed through the generous giving of teammates such as you. Thank you for your passion to reach athletes and coaches for Christ. May God bless you this Christmas season as you celebrate the gift of Jesus. We look forward to what God has in store for 2009!
