I've heard the phrase often, now I think I truly know what it means.
It's the kind of love my dog, sergeant, shows my wife and I. He has a constant desire to be loved by us, a constant desire to be near us, and a constant desire to please us. I saw it in his eyes this morning at 5:45 AM as I was sitting at my desk reading my bible prior to getting ready for work. He had been fed and outside for his morning routine and now he was sitting next to me at my desk with his head in my lap just looking at me as I was reading God's word.
I had to stop and pray that my love for Christ could equal that puppy love. That I could maintain a constant passion to be near Him, to love Him, and to please Him. How good my days feel when I have this connection with my Loving Creator!
All of creation shows God's fingerprint, even the love a dog shows to his owner (steward)!
Mark 12:30 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
